Youth Mentorship

Become a Youth Mentor and be a positive role model for children in our community. Foster meaningful relationships that are mutually beneficial. Empower Eureka has opportunities to engage with youth from sharing your passion of the arts to coaching a youth basketball team!

Youth Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Youth ages of 5-12:

    • Kids Who Care (coming soon)

  • Youth ages 13 -17:

    • Teen Leadership Program (Summer Camp)

    • Youth Council (new program available Summer 2018)

Adult Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Ages 18 and up!

  • Hoopsters Youth Basketball Coach / Assistant Coach (no experience necessary!)

  • After School Programs- Homework Assistance

  • Summer Camp Guest Speaker

  • Community Class Instructors: Do you love astronomy? Do you dance? Sing? Do you like to do arts and crafts? Are you knowledgeable in history, science, art, music, nature or gardening? Create a class based on your passions with and volunteer to teach a class for kids.

Invest In Your Community

  • Attend the city’s Open Space, Parks and Recreation Commission meetings and have a voice in future plans.

  • Meetings are held the second Thurs. of each month at 6 p.m. at the Adorni Center, 1011 Waterfront Drive.

  • Agendas are available on the City of Eureka website. For more information, call 707-441-4241.

  • Eureka Community Services provides scholarships to youth referred by their partnering agencies for families who don’t have the financial resources to send their child to Eureka Community Services programs such as after-school, youth basketball and summer camp.​
