Parks, Playgrounds & Trails

The Parks, Playgrounds & Trails Program is dedicated to improving and maintaining the welfare of our open spaces ranging from 13 local parks, various trails throughout the city, the Eureka Dog Park and the Myrtle Grove Cemetery. This is an opportunity to keep city staff informed of any challenges and improvements that our parks, playgrounds and trails may need!

VTS supports maintenance of local trails through monthly work days that include removing invasives, trail maintenance and building new trails! For more information, please visit Humtrails.org.

  • Dog Park Volunteer:

    • Give man's best friend a clean and safe place to play! If you love animals and socializing, help maintain the grounds of the Eureka Dog Park. For more information, please visit eurekadogpark.weebly.com.

  • People Powered Parks (P):Show your community spirit and help keep our city parks clean and beautiful. Program volunteers perform special stewardship activities as needed which vary by season and include but are not limited to: painting, weeding, pruning, planting, brush clearing, litter removal and playground or field improvement projects. City of Eureka staff provide the training, tools and safety equipment, so no prior experience is needed, only the desire to help and make a difference in your community.
