About The Event
Call for volunteers! The Buddy Brown Blues Festival, out at Perigot Park in Blue Lake on August 4th, Saturday. Humboldt County's Local Blues Festival returns for its 18th year at Perigot Park in Blue Lake. Dedicated to the memory of Richard Duggins (better known as Buddy Brown), who opened the festival the first year and passed away shortly after.
The Buddy Brown Blues Festival is a showcase of local blues musicians and a fund-raiser for the Folklife Folk School.
For this fest, we need 16 people total:
- 8 volunteers on the early shift from 10:30am- 2:30pm
- 8 volunteers on the closing shift from 2:15pm- 6:15pm
Description: There will be four volunteers at a gate during each shift. All the volunteers will be working the gates, collecting money, checking the ticket list: those who are 'comped' and so forth, checking IDs for beer consumption, putting 'bracelets' on those who are over 21 and the 'general admission' bracelets, and checking contents of coolers going in, and cups going out [no alcohol in or out of the park, aka security].
We have many 'perks' for the volunteers: they, of course, get into the festival free; they get a 2nd free ticket for a friend; a meal ticket worth $8; 2 beer tickets; and a free T-Shirt!
Tickets are on sale now at The Works in Eureka, People's Records and Wildberries in Arcata, Kids under 12 are FREE!
Please contact Anne Kinne if you are interested in getting free admission by volunteering! email@example.com
